Our Story

A regional engineering studio bridging academic training and municipal modernization in the LA region.

The Gap We're Closing

There is a gap between what universities can teach and what industry actually requires from new engineers. A graduating senior at any CSU or UC has read about test-driven development, version control, and CI/CD pipelines. They have rarely shipped production software with real-world consequences. By the time they reach those consequences in their first job, the curriculum that prepared them has aged out.

Greater Angels Software exists to close that gap.

A Teaching Hospital for Code

We run our company like a teaching hospital — not a software shop with interns. Senior engineering leadership directly supervises CSUF new-grad engineers on real client work, the same way attending physicians supervise medical residents on real patient cases.

The clients get production-grade software at non-corporate rates. The new-grad engineers get production experience that interview circuits and bootcamps cannot replicate. The local community gets digital modernization that stays anchored to the people who live there.

Today: Working Proof

We're starting in civic technology because that's where the gap is widest. Cities and libraries face fiscal pressure, growing service demand, and shrinking IT budgets. Standard vendors charge enterprise prices for off-the-shelf software that doesn't fit municipal workflows.

Our first product, Library Connect, automates patron registration for public libraries — from guided self-registration to verified addresses to automatic record creation in the library's existing catalog system. We built and verified it against a real municipal library's production infrastructure, and we publish it today as an architectural case study — working proof of how we integrate with the systems agencies already own. Alongside it, our Dispatcher Assist Overlay case study applies the same discipline to public-safety communications.

These case studies are the first step. The longer arc is to build a regional engagement infrastructure for the LA region — a platform that connects local government, universities, and small businesses to the people they serve. We're not there yet, and we won't pretend to be. We are, today, a civic-tech studio with working systems and a long view.

The Founder

Anthony Graca founded Greater Angels Software in 2026 after nearly a decade of engineering work on mission-critical federal aerospace and defense programs. He is a current MS Computer Science candidate at California State University, Fullerton, and his master's thesis investigates the measurable outcomes of apprenticeship-based engineering training — the same model Greater Angels operates under.

He built Greater Angels to be the company he wishes had hired him as a new grad, and to prove that world-class software can be built right here, with talent in Los Angeles, for the local community.
